Mildly bitter, subtly sweet, wildly refreshing. Bizzarro is a small batch, hand made and all natural aperitivo that evokes la dolce vita with an Aussie twang.
Michael Chiem, or “MC” to those who know him, is the owner and decorated cocktail creator behind much loved Sydney bar PS-40.
Here, MC has created two unique and insanely delicious cocktails using Bizzarro – one for simple, at home spritzing, the other a more adventurous drink for those that way inclined.
Get your wine glass and start with the Bizzarro, before adding the pet nat and only the dash-iest of dashes of soda. Add your ice, give a gentle stir, then garnish with a wedge of fresh orange and sprig of lemon thyme.
You know how we do it! Get it in a rocks glass, ice, stir, garnish with a slice of orange.
Build in a collins glass over ice, top with soda and garnish with some fresh strawberry.
Grab that shaker – get it all in over ice and shake hard and fast until cold. Strain into a tall tiki mug, topped with crushed ice.
Add the lot to your shaker with some ice and get cracking. Strain into a coupe and garnish with some thyme.
Grab a shaker, bounce in the lot with some ice and shake until cold. Strain into highball glass and garnish with a lemon wheel.
Shaker, add it all, shake it with ice. Double strain into a Nick and Nora, and garnish with a lemon wheel.
Get out a collins glass, build it all in and stir with some ice. Garnish with a couple of sprigs of mint.
Grab that shaker – throw in all the ingredients with a big handful of ice, and do what you came here to do – shake!
Strain in a rocks glass, throw in 3 more cubes, top with soda and garnish with an orange twist.
Throw the Bizzarro and OJ into a cocktail shaker with one cube of ice. Shake as hard as you can for as long as you can, then strain into a chilled coupe.
Shake all ingredients with a heap of ice, then strain into a chilled Nick and Nora. Garnish with a lemon twist, or a skewered olive resting on top.
Combine everything except the tonic water in a shaker with heaps of ice and give it a go. Strain into a wine glass over some big cubes of ice, top with a dash of tonic water and garnish with a thin slice of pink grapefruit and a sprig of lemon thyme.
